I had read alot about Bon Iver throughout last year, but it wasn’t until the very end of the year that I finally bought the record For Emma, Forever Ago and actually listened to the music.
I think buying the record, and buying tickets to this show all occurred around the same time to tell you the truth. When tickets went on sale we knew we wanted to see Bon Iver, aka Justin Vernon (and band), play in the smaller venue, the Spiegeltent, as opposed to his shows at the City Recital Hall.
The actual show was fantastic. Justin is very funny, and his voice was great live. I think they played everything off For Emma as well as all the new songs off the Blood Bank EP. The crowd had a sing-along during The Wolves (Act I And II), and the double drumming on tracks was really interesting too.
