The indie girl’s guide to…Camille @ City Recital Hall

I’m not a huge Camille fan -up until last week I didn’t own any of her albums and basically just new one song really well (Ta douleur) – but she is an artist that sounded interesting in the Sydney Festival program, so what the heck I went to check her out….
She was great! Singing songs in English or French or both, and singing songs in meows and ruffs, as in Cats and Dogs, where the audience joined in too. The backing band with numerous vocalists were great too. It was a real performance with costume changes (two shirts were made into one skirt, a dress with a peek-a-boo hole in the butt cheeks!), humour and an amazing voice. There were two encores, and then a third a cappella encore that we watched from aisle, as were already up out of our seats heading for the door, not really sure if there was more.
She played lots of songs off her latest album Music Hole as well as her previous album, Le fil.

The final encore, sang a cappella.
