The namesake of the Asthmatic Kitty record label, Sara the cat, has passed away. Asthmatic Kitty is a record label based in both Wyoming and Brooklyn and it was started by Sufjan Stevens and his step-father Lowell. It is home to numerous artists including My Brightest Diamond and Castanets as well as Sufjan himself.
