The indie girl’s guide to…Parklife Sydney
Parklife

Last Sunday I attended my first Parklife festival. Now I’m not usually a fan of “dance festivals” but this year’s line-up had a decidedly indie turn, with Empire of the Sun headlining. Sine I have my feet firmly planted in the “Luke Steele is a genius” camp, I really wanted to witness one of the first ever Empire of the Sun live shows – and it didn’t disappoint! I thoroughly enjoyed the set in all its grand extravagance. It was a visual masterpiece of elaborate costumes, crazy dancers and vivid lighting.
Other highlights of my day were Metric (of course!!), led by the divine Emily Haines, who put on an energetic set that included Monster Hospital, Gimme Sympathy, Stadium Love and crowd fave Help I’m Alive. I also caught some Little Boots, Sherlock’s Daughter, Cloud Control, Crystal Castles and La Roux.
Here’s some visuals from the day:
