-This was my second Falls Festival, my first at Tasmania’s Marion Bay
-Firstly the location – Amazing views when watching the main stage of the surrounding scenery and the ocean. Waaay prettier than Lorne!
-Musical highlights were Grizzly Bear – sounded amazing, all their voices together is bliss, something very special (looking forward to seeing them again in a few days), Yeah Yeah Yeahs -ringing in the new year with Karen O -”HAPPY FUCKING NEW YEAR TASSIE” – was fun, they always put on an awesome show, loved the big eye balls bouncing through the crowd, loved all the old songs (including an acoustic Maps) and the new songs were huge amounts of fun too, Emiliana Torrini – unbelievably cute and sweet, my home-grown faves were Sarah Blasko and Liam Finn – both polished live performers that know how to woo the crowds.
-I also saw Andrew Bird, White Rabbits, Chairlift, Editors (finally saw them live -yay- and they played Bullets – woooo!!!), Wolfmother, Moby, Lisa Mitchell, Temper Trap and Midnight Juggernauts, whose set was interrupted due to a pretty massive electrical storm. Did I mention New Year’s Eve was freakin’ hot? About 37 degress (celcius), and didn’t cool down at night even after the storm at around 11pm!

Nice photos! Pretty certain you must have been snapping right in front of me during grizzly bear as i was watching them from the same angle on the barrier. Makes me not feel so bad for not being able to have my camera haha! Thanks for the shots – makes the memory more special =]
And you’re right, marion bay is definitely prettier than lorne. Grizzly bear were amazing to watch, but the scenery made it even better.
