My third and final encounter with Grizzly Bear on their Australian tour was a hot, sweaty affair – thanks to a humid, rainy Sydney night outdoors at Beck’s Festival Bar (as part of Sydney Festival).
Having previously seen them on this tour at Falls Festival Marion Bay and two nights earlier at City Recital Hall (AMAZING, AMAZING GIG, see Wayne’s incredible review here) I knew what to expect – an awesome melding of four harmonious voices and an extraordinary layering of instruments to create their beautiful sounds live. They blew me away at their Recital Hall show, which was pretty much the perfect gig, but it was fun to see them play in the somewhat more relaxed and noisier environment of Beck’s. The set was dominated by Veckatimest material as well as Yellow House faves. Come back soon boys bears xxx
